DM> Maybe you're in quiet mode on your BBS? You can use a finger client or

 DM> $ nc -u vintagebbsing.com 11

I get the same result when I use finger vintagebbsing.com even with me logged
in.
That's an idea for quiet mode with my BBS. I'm not sure if I am in quiet mode
or
not. How might I turn off quiet mode or get out of that mode so it shows me
active when I use finger vintagebbsing.com?

Perhaps because I am using my SysOp account? A shot in the dark would be that

have a flag set that puts me in this mode automatically. I'll try logging in
s
a regular user and see if that makes a difference.

Sincerely,
Jon Justvig
