HAT uThe History of Australian Theatre

Greetings to all!

This month I have added two new articles. One concerns the adventures
of a relatively unknown Englishman called Arthur Stigant. Arthur
specialised in the pantomime dame role and came to Australia in 1914.
He stayed till his death in 1959.

I have been looking at pantomime this past month and have added
another article about it. This concerns Cinderella, played in
Melbourne the first Christmas of World War One, 1914.

If you are interested in pantomime I recommend the great site, It has everything you need to know on
the subject.

I have updated the database of people associated with Australian
theatre, and finally reached the 5000 mark. I got a bit carried away
and got to 5500. If you haven't found a relative yet, you may have a
better chance this month.

Other than that I would like to thank everybody for their emails. I
would especially like to thank Chris from Tasmania who sent me some
theatre programmes from that wonderful state. Thanks Chris!

As always, if you have questions or wish to talk about the site, drop
me a line
