  A function is not a macro. You can only #undef what has been
previously #defined.

  No, I think it's just a matter of personal preference. Most don't
use leading or trailing underscores, though, leaving that to the
standard header files. I only use leading & trailing underscores in
the self-definition of header files, eg.:

#ifndef __PTOOEY_H__
#define __PTOOEY_H__

...     /* contents of header file */

#endif
